Studio Guidelines

Since the classes are getting bigger I wanted to lay out some general “studio guidelines” so that everyone has a positive experience.  Please read these over and let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Studio Guidelines:

1.  The studio will be open 15 minutes before each class begins to give you time to settle in before class starts if you need.

2.  Please keep all cell phones on vibrate and if you must take your calls please take them outside (If there is a medical/physical reason you cannot accommodate this please let me know).

3.  Please be respectful of your neighbor regarding casual conversation during class time.  While some conversation is ok and I encourage you to look at and discuss the work that is going on in class, excessive or loud conversation can be distracting to some while working.  I often play jazz or classical music quietly in the studio and you are welcome to bring headphones to play your own if you desire.  Or bring music to share! 🙂

4.  Only artist grade mineral spirits allowed in the studio.  Hardware store varieties, though they may say “odorless” still have a strong odor and cause headaches and discomfort for some.

5.  If you would like to work on independent projects in class, please let me know in advance in order to arrange for studio furniture.

6.  Payment is due on the first day of class (please let me know if you need to make special arrangements).  If you have to miss a class you are welcome to attend a different section to make up for it during that month session (provided the class isn’t full).
